Inauguration of ‘Dinosaur Park’ at District Science Centre, Purulia

A new facility 'Dinosaur Park' was inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Dipak Ranjan Mandal, Vice Chancellor, Sidho-Kanho-Birsha University, Purulia at District Science Centre, Purulia, a unit of National Council of Science Museums under the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.

The 6000 Sq. feet Dinosaur Park reveals the unknown world of the dinosaurs by narrating the fascinating story through the 10 animated life-size dinosaur models along with the flora of that period.

The dinosaur models displayed in the park are- Stegosaurus, Corythosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Archaeopteryx, Scelidosaurus, Pteranodon, Oviraptor, Tyrannosaurus rex (T. Rex), Brachiosaurus, Iguanodon. The facility is open to the visitors of the centre and there is no separate entry ticket.
